Cakes and Pastries Recipes - Strawberry and Almond Cream Tart Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 6:

  • 10 oz shortbread dough (refer recipe)

  • 1/2 oz butter

  • 1 2/3 lb strawberries

  • Almond cream:

  • 3 1/2 oz almond powder

  • 3 1/2 oz sugar

  • 3 1/2 oz soft butter

  • 2 eggs


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C.

  2. Roll out the dough and line a greased tart pan with it. Bake blind for about 15 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the almond cram in mixing bowl: combine the almond powder, sugar, butter and eggs.

  4. Take the crust out of the oven. Fill the tart base with almond cram. Bake for another 15 minutes.

  5. Wash the strawberries, discarding the leaves and stems. halve them lengthwise.

  6. Garnish the tart with the strawberry halves, overlapping them slightly.
