Cookie Recipes - Simple Chocolate Brownies

 

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups/225 g all-purpose/plain flour

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 7 oz/200 g semisweet/dark chocolate, coarsely chopped

  • 1/2 cup/125 g butter, cut up

  • 1 cup/180 g white chocolate chips

  • 1 cup/180 g milk chocolate chips

  • 1 cup/100 g coarsely chopped pecans

  • 2 large eggs


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C/gas 4. Butter an 8-inch (20-cm) square baking pan.

  2. Sift the flour and salt into a medium bowl. Melt the semisweet chocolate with the butter in a double boiler over barely simmering water.

  3. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a medium bowl and let cool for 5 minutes. Mix in the white and milk chocolate chips and the pecans.

  4. Add the eggs, beating until just blended. Mix in the dry ingredients. Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until dry on top and almost firm to the touch. Do not over bake. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
