Cookie Recipes - Honey Walnut Brownies

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup/150 g all-purpose/plain flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/8 tsp salt

  • 6 oz/180 g semisweet/dark chocolate, coarsely chopped

  • 1/2 cup/125 g butter, cut up

  • 1/2 cup/100 g granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup/125 ml honey

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup/100 g finely chopped walnuts


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C/gas 4. Butter a 13 x 9-inch (33 x 23-cm) baking pan.

  2. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a medium bowl. Melt the chocolate with the butter in a double boiler over barely simmering water.

  3. Transfer the chocolate mixture to a large bowl and let cool for 5 minutes. Beat in the sugar and honey.

  4. Add the eggs, beating until just blended. Mix in the dry ingredients and walnuts. Spoon the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.

  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until dry on top and almost firm to the touch. Do not over bake. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
