Cookies
Ingredients

1 cup/150 g
all-purpose/plain flour

1 1/2 tsp
baking powder

1/2 tsp salt
-
1/2 cup/125 g
butter, softened

1/4 cup/50 g
granulated sugar

1 large egg,
lightly beaten

6 oz/180 g
semisweet/dark chocolate, coarsely
chopped
Method:

Preheat the
oven to 350°F/180°C/gas 4. Butter two cookie
sheets. Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt
into a large bowl.

Beat the
butter and sugar in a large bowl with an
electric mixer at high speed until creamy.

Add the egg,
beating until just blended. Mix in the dry
ingredients and chocolate.

Drop
teaspoons of the mixture 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart
onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for
15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool on
the sheets for 15 minutes. Transfer to racks to
cool.
