Cereal and Seed Cookie Recipes - Sunflower Seed
Drizzlers Recipe
Ingredients

2 cups/300
g all-purpose/plain flour

1 tsp
ground allspice
-
1 tsp
baking soda
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1 1/2
cups/225 g sunflower
seeds
-
1 cup/150
g oldfashioned
rolled oats
-
2 tbsp
sesame seeds
-
1 cup/250 g
butter, cut up
-
2 tbsp
firmly packed
dark brown sugar
-
1 tbsp dark molasses
-
1 1/2
cups/250 g carob
chips
Method:

Preheat the oven
to 375°F/190°C/gas 5. Butter two cookie sheets.

Sift the flour, allspice, baking soda, and salt into
a large bowl. Stir in the sunflower seeds, oats,
and sesame seeds.

Melt the butter with the brown
sugar and molasses in a small saucepan over low heat
until the sugar has dissolved completely.

Pour the
melted butter mixture into the dry ingredients and
mix well. Drop tablespoons of the mixture 1 1/2
inches (4 cm) apart onto the prepared cookie sheets,
flattening with a fork.

Bake for 8-10 minutes, or
until just golden. Transfer to racks to cool. Melt the carob in a double boiler over barely
simmering water.

Drizzle the carob over the
cookies and let stand for 30 minutes.
