Cereal and Seed Cookie Recipes - Spicy Crisps Recipe
Ingredients
3/4 cup/125
g wheat germ, toasted
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/8
tsp salt
1/2 cup/75 g
old-fashioned
rolled oats
1/3 cup/70
g
granulated sugar
6 tbsp
butter, cut up
1 tbsp
light corn syrup
1 tbsp milk
Method:
Preheat the oven
to 350°F/180°C/gas 4. Butter two cookie sheets.
Stir together the wheat germ, baking soda, cinnamon,
nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in the oats
and sugar.
Melt the butter with the corn syrup and
milk in a small saucepan over low heat.
Pour into
the dry 2' ingredients and mix until smooth. Form
into balls the size of walnuts and place 2 inches
(5 cm) apart on the prepared cookie sheets,
flattening them slightly.
Bake for 12-15 minutes,
or until golden brown. Cool the cookies completely
on the cookie sheets.
