Cereal and Seed Cookie Recipes - Down-under Oat Squares Recipe

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup/125 g butter, cut up

• 1 cup/200 g granulated sugar

• 1 tbsp light corn syrup/golden syrup

• 1 tbsp all-purpose/plain flour

• 1/2 cup/75 g old-fashioned rolled oats

Method:

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F/170°C/gas 3. Butter a 9-inch (23-cm) square baking pan.  

2. Melt the butter, sugar, and corn syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat.

3. Remove from the heat and stir in the flour and oats until well blended.

4. Spoon the mixture evenly into the prepared pan, pressing down lightly.

5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely before  cutting into bars.
