Cookies Recipes - Strawberry Crispy Squares Recipe

Ingredients              

• 1 1/2 cup flour

• 1 tsp baking powder

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar

• 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats

• 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened

• 1 1/4 cups strawberry jam

Method:

1. Instructions for jar: Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Spoon into 1 liter jar.

2. Spoon brown sugar over flour mixture. Spoon oats over brown sugar.

3. For baking: Preheat oven to 350( 176C). Empty contents of jar into large mixing bowl. Cut butter into dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly.

4. Press two-thirds crumb mixture evenly into sprayed 9 x 13-inch (23 x 33 cm) baking pan.

5. Spread jam evenly over crumb mixture and sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top.

6. Bake for 35 minutes. Cool before cutting into squares.
