Cookies Recipes - Frosted Butterscotch Bars

Ingredients

1 1/2 cup packed
brown sugar

1 1/2 cup flour

1 tbsp baking
powder

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 cup chopped
pecans

1/2 cup miniature
chocolate chips

1 1/2 cup (1 stick)
butter, softened

2 eggs
Chocolate Icing:
Method:

Instructions for jar: Spoon brown sugar into 1
liter jar.

Combine
flour, baking powder and salt. Spoon mixture
over brown sugar.

Layer pecans over
flour mixture and chocolate chips over pecans.

For baking: Preheat oven to
350°(176°C).
Empty contents of jar into medium mixing bowl and
stir to combine ingredients. Beat butter and eggs in
large mixing bowl.

Add dry ingredients to egg
mixture in several additions and mix well after
each.

Spread batter in sprayed 9 x 13-inch (23 x 33
cm) baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until
light brown on top.

Remove from oven and cool. Frost
with Chocolate Icing (recipe below) while warm.
To make
Icing:
Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Stir in
cocoa, milk and powdered sugar and mix well. Remove
from heat and stir in vanilla and spread over warm
bars.
