Cakes and Pastries Recipes - Spice Bread Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 8:

  • 1 egg

  • 5 2/3 oz (160 g) flour

  • 1/2 packet of baking powder

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 2 pinches of ground clove Pepper mill

  • 7 oz (200 g) honey

  • 3 fl oz (90 mil milk

  • 3/4 oz (20 g) butter


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 340°F/170°C.

  2. Break the egg into a mixing bowl and beat it lightly with a fork until it has a creamy consistency and the yellow color pales. Set aside.

  3. Sift together the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add the cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix and add the ground clove. Give the pepper mill 7-8 turns, and successively blend in the honey, milk, and beaten egg, making sure the batter remains smooth.

  4. Grease a cake pan with a volume of about 4 cups.

  5. Using a spatula spoon the batter carefully into the pan. Bake for an hour.

  6. Allow the spice bread to rest for about 5 min, then turn it out on a rack to cool.
