Cakes and Pastries Recipes - Banana Walnut Cake Recipe

Ingredients

Serves 8:

  •  1/3 lb (150 g) butter

  • 12 3/4 oz (360 g) flour

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/3 lb (150 g) sugar

  • 2 3/4 oz (80 g) walnuts

  • 8 3/4 oz (250 g) peeled bananas

  • 4 eggs


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 464°F/240°C.

  2. Melt 4 1/2 oz (130 g) of butter.

  3. Sift 12 1/3 oz (350 g) of flour, the yeast, and the baking soda into a bowl.

  4. Add the sugar, the crushed walnuts, and the bananas, cut into small slices. Add the beaten eggs and the melted butter. Mix together well.

  5. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake for 10 to 15 min.

  6. Lower the temperature to 390°F/200°C and bake for another 30 to 40 min. Test for doneness by inserting a knife blade into the center of the cake; it should come out clean.
