1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast or bread machine yeast
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
1 tablespoon bread flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Milk
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sifted
powdered sugar
3 tablespoons
maple flavored syrup
2 to 3 teaspoons milk
Method:
Grease 2 large baking sheets; set aside. Add first 8
ingredients to bread machine according to
manufacturer's directions. Select dough cycle. When
cycle is complete, remove dough. Punch down. Cover;
let rest for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine brown sugar, softened butter, the
1 tablespoon flour, and cinnamon.
On lightly floured
surface, roll dough into a 14x12-inch rectangle.
Spread with butter mixture. Cut rectangle in half
lengthwise to make two 12x7-inch rectangles.
Starting from a long side, roll up each rectangle
into a spiral; seal edges.
Cut each into 16 slices.
Place, cut sides down, 1 inch apart on prepared
baking sheets. Cover; let rise about 25 minutes or
until nearly double.
Brush with a little milk. Bake in a 375°C oven 12 to 15 minutes or until
golden.
For icing, heat 3 tablespoons butter over
medium-low heat for 7 to 10 minutes or until light
brown. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and
the 3 tablespoons maple syrup.
Stir in enough of
the 2 to 3 teaspoons milk to make of drizzling
consistency. Drizzle over warm buns. Serve warm.
